Which one do you need?
Start here when the shape is the problem rather than the material. The area calculator turns a room, a wall or a yard into square feet or square metres, including L-shapes and bays that a single length by width cannot describe. The volume calculator does the same for anything with depth: a trench, a raised bed, a pond. Both feed everything else on this site — get the measurement right once, then carry it into flooring, paint, gravel or concrete rather than measuring the room four separate times.
