Why this exists
Most material calculators give you a number and no way to tell whether it is right. This one shows the working, labels the assumptions, and converts the result into the whole boxes, bags and bundles you actually have to put in a trolley.
How it is paid for
The calculators are free and require no account. If advertising or retailer links are introduced later, they will be clearly separated from the calculation and will never change a recommended quantity. A commercial arrangement that alters your material list is not one worth having.
What is stored
Calculations run entirely in your browser. Saved projects stay in your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing you measure is sent anywhere in order to calculate it.
Who answers for it
One person operates this site, named with a postal address and a contact route below. There is no editorial board and no panel of tradespeople: claiming either would be inventing authority. What stands behind the numbers is the arithmetic, which is shown on every calculator page, and the tests that check it.
How a calculator is checked, and how to report an error
Every calculator carries expected values that were worked out by hand from stated inputs, never recorded from what the code produced, and a test fails if the code stops agreeing with them. Each page shows its own working, so you can check the result rather than trust it. If a number looks wrong, write to the contact address with the measurements you entered and what you expected; a reproducible error is fixed and the review date on the affected page moves.
