Concrete & Masonry

Volume for slabs, footings, columns and post holes, then the choice that follows it: how many bags to mix yourself, or how much ready-mix to order.

Which one do you need?

The two concrete calculators answer different questions. Ready-mix ends in cubic yards or cubic metres, which is how a truck is ordered, and it adds up slabs, footings, walls and round columns in one pour. The bag calculator ends in whole bags, using the yield printed on your bag rather than its weight, because yield is the only figure that converts reliably to volume. Work out the volume first: as it approaches a cubic yard, ready-mix usually stops being the expensive option.
